Eyeball to eyeball
Cold and ferocious they say she is but I rather saw a beautiful monster possessing a blazing fire
Our bus drove past one of her hit points,
She had just harvested 5 souls from a road accident
She was smiling as she strangulated the 6th person who gave up after a long fight
Raising up her head to catch a glimpse of who was watching, our eyes collided and I looked deep- eyeball to eyeball and didn’t blink
She must have been overwhelmed by my boldness as she stared with glare
Probably thinking of how she’ll break me when she gets hold of me like a legionnaire
But until then, I guess it’s faire to say until we meet again

And so we met again and this time, I was a target
Thunder sounds were rumbling, the rains drizzling, the wind whistling and gunshots crackling as the sun was fading
In the midst of this as I approached home, I decided to seek refuge at a neighbor’s house
Stray bullet some call it, I was caught up in the crossfire
Unconscious I was, bleeding profusely my left arm was
She broke down the door, pulling the trigger at the heads of 7 household members in whose house I was seeking refuge
Looking at my state, she thought I was already in her train
She left with a smile on her face- I could tell cuz unconsciously I could see her
2 days later I woke up on a hospital bed next to one dying of corona virus
She had struck again and again missed me
But then, all I can say is until we meet again

Violent she was as we met yet again
I think she’s fallen for me so it’s driving her insane
For it seems jealousy was her motivation this time to get me in her train
I was on the highway with my baby gyal, tipsy and excited we were traveling at lightning speed, we were having the time of our lives with the music up loud and the sun shining bright, we were having fun indeed
Then from nowhere came a trailer right in our faces, just as in the movies,
We crashed against its wall, somersaulting our car into the trees
I guess you can imagine the outcome of this
Oh no I didn’t perish but my gurl did as I watched her being consumed by death’s fire while I was hurriedly pulled out by passersby before the car went down completely in flames
Why her? Why not me instead? Why do I have to go through such trauma over and over and over again?
Death smiled at me as I rained her with curses
I realized this rather made her happy
So looking deep into her eyes, eyeball to eyeball, I said;
“Until we meet again”

Kok-kok-kok!!! I heard the knock on the door
Who was it? I pondered as I opened the door
Delilah it was at the door
But why? I thought we had ended things long ago
Oh no, I come in peace or should I go??
She looked unusually very sexy, how could I tell her to go?
Something wasn’t right though
She looked more bold, more beautiful but more fierce
Guess what!!
She had been possessed by death herself
This was a perfect opportunity to get me right?
So as I turned to get her a drink, she came charging at me with a dagger
But as luck will have it, at the same time I was stooping to get my charger
She crashed against a wall, fell to the floor and unconscious she went
Waking up in a few minutes, I had ice blocks to her forehead and was smiling at her
Shocked and disturbed, she asked “why don’t you fear me like the others do?”
So I told her -“if no be your time, no be your time”
Na baba God get power
I further told her how unsuccessful I was in life even at committing suicide
E no been be my time
But then, even more so, to die is to be free from all the tribulations of this earth
So one who loves freedom but fears death knows not what freedom is then for death is the ultimate freedom
After all, if man no die, man no go rest
She looked deep into my eyes, eyeball to eyeball, smiled, shook my hand and said “until we meet again”
