Poland missile strike: President Zelensky claims 'significant escalation' of conflict
Published at : November 16, 2022
BREAKING NEWS: UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelensky claims 'significant escalation' of conflict after reports of a Russian missile striking NATO-member Poland, killing two civilians.
"Russian missiles hit Poland," Zelenskiy said, according to a text accompanying his nightly video address. He did not provide evidence of the strikes.
"The longer Russia feels impunity, the more threats there will be to anyone within reach of Russian missiles. To fire missiles at NATO territory! This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a very significant escalation. We must act," Zelenskiy said.
The United States and Western allies said they were investigating but could not confirm a report that the blast in NATO member Poland resulted from stray Russian missiles, while Russia's defence ministry denied it.
